Clothing and Design. After graduation I wanted to use my degree, so I moved to Los Angeles to embark on my career in the Apparel Industry.
"Toto we are not in Kansas anymore!" I was able to experience all Los Angeles had to offer in my professional and personal life. The best discovery I made in California was the dream I had brewing deep in my soul of creating my own business...and the organization Moms Making Money that helped me set goals, create a business plan and a group of women who supported me and held me be accountable. I also found my husband in California and got married! Living in Los Angeles took a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice...and after 10 years of climbing the corporate ladder, I knew that there was more to life than working to live...and living to work.
It was time for a new chapter in our life and we now had different priorities (we all know this comes with age!). I decided it was bitter sweet, but it was definately time for me to focus on being close to family, establishing roots, building strong abiding friendships, becoming part of a community and making my relationship the primary focus. My life had come full circle and it was time for Dorthy to click her heels together to find her way back home.
